Bishop Robert M. Taylor, Sr. is a native of Tarboro, North Carolina, and the founding pastor of the Fellowship Tabernacle Church Incorporated in Statesville, North Carolina. He is also the Presiding Prelate of the International Covenant Ministries Fellowship, a conglomerate of churches which extends into the states of Tennessee, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, California, Maryland, Florida, and abroad in Pakistan, India, Jamaica and Africa.
From the loins of his spiritual father, the late Bishop R.T. Jones, Sr., Bishop Taylor began fulfilling his call to ministry in 1979 when the Lord birthed through him the Fellowship Tabernacle Church in Philadelphia, PA. By sharing practical ways for people to be delivered from abusive and mediocre lifestyles, Bishop Taylor has helped thousands to realize God’s destiny for their lives.
After being consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop in 1996, the Lord soon enshrouded Bishop Taylor in an Apostle’s mantle and he was called to establish churches abroad. The Lord instructed him to entrust his legacy in the City of Philadelphia to his sons and daughters, who continue to carry his mantle of anointing.
In January 2004, following heaven’s mandate, Bishop Taylor began a crusade in the City of Statesville, North Carolina. From that crusade, the Fellowship Tabernacle Church Statesville was birthed. Since that time, hundreds of souls have been added to the ministry. In addition to building God a habitation for His anointing, The Fellowship Tabernacle Church Statesville has purchased an old nursing home to serve as a temporary housing facility for the impoverished, marginalized and disenfranchised in the Statesville area. This is a continuation of Bishop Taylor’s God-driven, life-long quest to address the economical, educational, and spiritual needs of the community.
Bishop Taylor has achieved many triumphs on a local, national and international level. Under the tutelage of his mentor Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Taylor has soared to greater heights. He serves on the General Board of Bishops of the Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, where the honorable Dr. Sherman S. Watkins presides.
The vision that God has infused into the spirit of Bishop Taylor and the thriving ministry in Statesville include a Drug and Alcohol Reform Center, Crisis Center for Abused Women, HIV/AIDS Haven House, Seniors complex, Soup Kitchen, Feeding Center, Youth Activities Center, and Educational and Life Skills Center.
Bishop Taylor is the father of two (2) biological sons, Robert Taylor, Jr. and Kevin Taylor, and the grandfather of two, Ashley and Lauryn. He is also blessed to be called father by many other spiritual sons and daughters to whom he gave spiritual birth and paternal nurturing.
